Propolis
is a resinous exudate collected by bees from the leaf buds of
certain trees, mostly from the poplar.
Enzymes from the bee’s digestive
glands modify these exudates and they process it for use as
a cement to secure the structure of the hive.
Propolis protects the hive from infection.
It is one of the most effective natural antibiotics; and it
acts as an anti-bacterial and an anti-viral, not only
for bees but also for humans.
